Have you ever done something that you weren’t supposed to do but turned out it was actually one of the best things that had ever happened in your life? I have, with cooking. Cooking was never supposed to be my purpose in life, I just happened to do it because I needed to eat; to survive. I started cooking with a dish I thought was doable for everyone: Nasi Goreng. But, hey… it wasn’t really that simple! I burned the rice and added too much salt. I really thought I had no hope in cooking until I finished everything on the plate. It was indeed better than starving. Of course, I didn’t feel satisfied by just feeling full. I learned from recipe books, my mom, and my own experiences. And those brought me to today, I can open my own diner. My purpose of opening this diner is to make my guests feel satisfied, so they can leave my diner with a happy tummies and hope.Other than cooking, few people said that I’m pretty perceptive when it comes to sensing someone. Is it because I’m an extreme Feeler? Yes, I somehow relate more to MBTI rather than zodiac. Perhaps because I haven’t learned a lot about astrology, perhaps it’s the bad stereotypes about Leo that I don’t like. Nonetheless, I always love to discuss and discover something I don’t know about. I believe it’s not really food that connects people, but the communication that happens during the meal— though, of course, a delicious meal usually starts a conversation. My cooking might not be as tasty as food from a 3 Michelin star restaurant, but I always make sure to cook them carefully.Cooking shows often reflect the chef acts in real life, too. My actions to show love lean towards the high-maintenance relationship traits, where I mostly give more than taking.
